Dezeen Showroom: Spanish brand Gandia Blasco has launched a modular seating range called Onde, which Italian designer Luca Nichetto created for both outdoor and indoor use.
Nichetto developed Onde in response to a growing demand for flexibility, with its pared-back, modular design lending itself not just to porches, terraces and gardens but also to refined interior environments.
The Onde range comprises modules of different sizes, ranging from an armchair to a three-seater sofa – available with or without armrests.
Each unit can be used on its own or combined with the others to form a larger seating system.
The design features a geometric base made of corrugated aluminium sheets, which is mounted on short aluminium legs and used to prop up the cushions.
Both the metallic frame and the upholstery can be finished in different shades to help users match their desired colour scheme.
"The main idea came from looking at how the outdoor furniture market is changing and how people use outdoor furniture," said Nichetto.
"It is a collection that, in addition to being designed for outdoors, fits easily with interior decoration."
