Dezeen promotion: German watchmaker Nomos Glashütte is offering free, personalised engravings on its watches including the pared-back Orion 33 duo in celebration of Valentine's Day.
Orion 33 duo, launched by Nomos Glashütte at Baselworld in 2019, is one of the brand's four watch models designed with smaller faces to suit wearers with slim wrists.
The Valentine's Day offer of complimentary engravings, available with purchases of the watch, allows messages of up to four lines of 22 characters to be inscribed on the back of its stainless steel case.
As its name suggests, the Orion 33 duo is 33 millimetres in diameter. It has a white silver-plated face, finished without numbers or a sub-seconds dial for a pared-back look.
Its stainless steel case is teamed with golden hands and a beige velour-leather strap to "exude a simple elegance", according to the brand.
It is hand-wound and powered with an Alpha.2 calibre – the internal mechanism of a watch – that is crafted in-house by Nomos Glashütte, is designed to be highly precise, and has a 43-hour power reserve.
The watch forms part of a Nomos Glashütte Duo range that also includes Tangente, Ludwig and Tetra models, for which the brand's Valentine's Day offer is also available.
The watches are slimmer versions of four of the brand's classic models that were developed more than a quarter of a century ago and are designed to embody the principles of the Bauhaus movement.
Nomos Glashütte was founded in 1990 in the renowned watchmaking town of Glashütte in Germany and is best known for its mechanical watches that are made with in-house calibres.
Each of its watches is produced according to the traditions of Deutscher Werkbund – a German association of artists, architects, designers, and industrialists that was established in 1907, of which it is a member.
The Orion 33 duo watch is available online and with various retailers. To find out more about the collection visit the Nomos Glashütte website.
