In our latest competition, we are giving readers the chance to win a Louis Poulsen Panthella 320 table lamp in opal white.
This competition is now closed.
To celebrate the expansion of the Panthella collection, we have teamed up with Danish brand Louis Poulsen and UK retailer David Village Lighting to offer readers the chance to win a 320 table lamp in opal.
Designed by Verner Panton in 1971, the Panthella collection originated as a table lamp but has since expanded to include floor, mini table and portable versions.
One reader will win the new 320 table lamp, which is sized between the standard and mini table lamp and was created to mark the collection's 50th anniversary.
In addition to the new size, the Panthella 320 will launch in fresh colours, brass and chrome, as well as the existing opal and white finishes. The mini version is also available in black and orange.
"With Panthella, Panton wanted to create a graphic and figurative lamp that could stand alone in a room like a sculpture," said David Village Lighting.
Each lamp features a mushroom silhouette and has a shade diameter of 320 millimetres with an E14 light source.
"Made of metal with a mirrored quality, the new finish references Panton's fascination with new materials and vibrant colours," David Village Lighting said.
All metal versions have white inner sides for optimum light reflection, whilst the opal acrylic lamp that is up for grab produces a diffused light thanks to its translucent shade.
Panton introduced a series of modern lamps during his career thanks to his experimental nature and use of boundary pushing materials – such as plastic, foam and plexiglas.
Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen was founded in 1874, and has collaborated with other designers and architects including Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen during its history.
