Dezeen Showroom: Spanish outdoor furniture brand Diabla has reimagined its portable Plisy light as a floor lamp while retaining its characteristic pleated shade.

The updated Plisy Up light was designed by Alejandra Gandia-Blasco for Diabla and consists of a powder-coated aluminium base with a polyethylene shade.

Its lampshade is pleated in a nod to classic indoor reading lights while the aluminium base has a playful jagged edge.

"Thanks to its folds made with an unexpected material, polyethylene, Plisy Up is a lighting complement that gives a chic and fun touch to an outdoor evening," Diabla said.

Plisy Up, which Diabla describes as a "stylish and technological reinvention of the garden lantern", comes in a range of colours including pastel pink and a neutral sandy hue.

Its LED lightsource can be charged by USB.
