Arholma chair by Alexander Lervik for Skargaarden
Dezeen Showroom: Swedish brand Skargaarden's Arholma outdoor chair was designed by Alexander Lervik to be as minimalist as possible while having a distinctive character.
Arholma is a classic outdoor cafe chair made of steel that can withstand the elements.
Skargaarden sees it as having an almost military-like efficiency and functionality — so much so that they named the chair after the island of Arholma, home to an underground Swedish defence facility.
At the same time, the outdoor furniture brand describes Arholma as having an idiosyncratic form that works in a range of settings.
"Despite the minimalist design, Arholma has a distinct character that feels both timeless and modern — and like both of these qualities takes a rightful place and blends into all types of environments," said Skargaarden.
The chair is stackable and can be ordered with an optional silver-grey cushion. A table also features in the collection.
