Dezeen Showroom: Francesc Rifé has updated his Lab outdoor lighting for Spanish brand Marset, introducing more sizes and styles with a heightened emphasis on texture.

In addition to 2012's original LED wall lamp, the Lab range now includes bollard models. They feature a concealed point of light that shines down into a hollow interior and is reflected onto the ground beyond.

The new design emphasises the interplay of light and materials while providing an interesting contrast with natural environments.

"The original fixture was meant to be integrated with the environment, to blend in. But the new version can also gain its own prominence if used in a place where the materials provide a contrast with the environment," said Rifé.

"The idea is to draw an emotionally warm landscape."

The Lab bollard and wall lights have an aluminium structure with either painted metal or pressed wood front covers. The new models come in two sizes.
