Dezeen promotion: Italian brand Roda has released its catalogue for 2021, which features furniture and accessories for the home and garden from a number of international designers.
Across four different collections, the new catalogue spans outdoor furniture from Italian architect Piero Lissoni and Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades, as well as a range of complementary planters and rugs.
All pieces reflect what Roda describes as its 30-year commitment to creating "responsible design that adds value".
This includes a focus on quality and durability as well as sustainability, with the catalogue showcasing a wide selection of natural materials from cork to FSC-certified teak for several collections.
For its 2021 collection, the company has also shown a renewed focus on circularity through its use of "infinitely recyclable" aluminium as well as a rich array of fabrics, straps and ropes made from recycled materials.
Anastassiades, for example, has designed the Plein Air outdoor table with a stoneware top made from at least 40 per cent recycled ceramic, and available in either a dark graphite or sandy beige colour.
Its matching aluminium frame has no visible joints and creates a clean-cut, linear silhouette.
"It is a piece of furniture that simultaneously conveys both a sense rigour and a sense of harmony through its judicious combination not just of geometric forms and lines but also of different materials," Roda explained.
Plein Air is available in four different sizes, up to a generous 2.8 metres in length and made from a single stoneware slab.
Lissoni has designed an entire product family for Roda called Levante, which includes three different seating designs as well as a table in two sizes, all rendered in teak wood slats inside a frame.
Thanks to their refined design, the tables and their matching armchairs lend themselves equally well for contemporary or classic settings.
"The solid and elegant teak exalts the excellent proportions and harmony of the design, with the result that the Levante collection will appeal to those who want to turn an outdoor environment into a liveable space that is at once functional and elegant," the brand explained.
The range also includes a lounge chair and chaise longue, which can be folded up to save space.
To accompany the furniture pieces, Roda has also released a series of textured planters, designed by Maltese-born Gordon Guillaumier and made entirely from brown cork.
Meanwhile, designer Maria Gabriella Zecca contributed the Tint rugs, which work both indoors and outdoors and come in either a green or red-hued colour gradient.
Art direction for 2021 catalogue came from Milanese architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni and the full booklet can be downloaded on the Roda website.
