Dezeen promotion: British brand CTO Lighting has created a collection of suspended circular chandeliers named Avalon, showcasing brass, bronze and honed alabaster stone.
Named for the mythical island of Arthurian legends, Avalon is designed to cast an "enchanting and mesmerising" glow over a room.
"Avalon is inspired by the legendary island, from where mystical stories of light and shadows have enchanted the world for centuries," said CTO Lighting.
"We wanted to make a chandelier that has a classical, pure form but instead of hanging the decorative elements, we wanted to incorporate the decoration within the band."
Columns of the translucent alabaster stone are incased within the metal structure of the light, creating a scalloped edge of stones framed by sateen metal.
The ring-shaped chandelier is available in medium or large, or as the Avalon Halo – where a medium and a large are stacked one over the other. Avalon's LED lights are dimmable for extra atmosphere.
"The Halo chandelier is an elevated level of luxury, with its tiered height creating a dramatic feature," said CTO Lighting.
Avalon's stone and metal ring are suspended by stainless steel cables that control the drop of the light, so the chandelier can be fitted to any space.
CTO Lighting is a British luxury lighting brand that works with its signature materials of satin brass, bronze, alabaster, mouth-blown and handmade glass.
The company rebranded in November 2020 with a minimalist new logo highlighting a lightbulb-shaped symbol that represents continuity and flexibility.
