Barista mobile bar by Adriano Design for De Castelli
Dezeen Showroom: designed by Adriano Design for Italian brand De Castelli, the Barista is a mobile liquor cabinet with a sculptural and hygienic copper shell.
Barista's exterior is made of copper rods of different diameters, lined up to give it a ribbed texture that highlights the beauty of the natural material.
The metal is left free of any protective treatment, which preserves its antibacterial properties and makes it well suited to housing drinks and food. This also means the copper remains a living material, so its appearance will change and patinate over time.
Barista opens along a central axis, revealing a stainless steel interior with a mirrored finish to reflect the colourful liquor bottles and cocktail glasses it holds.
The compact mobile bar is part of the Copper at Home collection, which De Castelli has created in response to the way that the pandemic has re-orientated recreation towards the home.
"Being careful about the things we carry with us, adopting precise patterns of behaviour, more conscious routines and a different approach to leisure time – these are some of the habits that make up a 'new normal' and which have prompted entirely new design projects for interiors," said the brand.
