Enter Radical Innovation hospitality design competitions
Dezeen promotion: Radical Innovation is currently accepting entries from professionals and students to its hospitality and product design competitions.
Radical Innovation is inviting designers to submit their visionary ideas for hotel and travel-related projects and offering the opportunity to present the work to a global audience.
The platform aims to assist in turning these ideas into reality, help with industry introductions and connect students with scholarship opportunities.
"Radical Innovation has a legacy of challenging the hospitality industry to think differently," said the competition organisers.
"For the last 15 years, the Hardy Group and a group of visionary sponsors have supported this platform allowing for development and design visionaries to come together around disruptive and radical hospitality ideas."
The first competition, Professional Hospitality Design, asks for concepts or built projects for the chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or $5,000 runner up prize.
The student version of this competition offers $1,500 as a prize, plus the opportunity for an assistantship/scholarship at an affiliated institution.
The second competition is looking for Product Design for Hospitality submissions, which can also be in the concept or built phase. Professional entries can win $10,000, while students are competing for $1,500.
Deadline for entries to each competition is 20 May 2021, with a fee of $250 for professionals and no fee for students. Winners will also receive travel and hotel expenses to New York City for the awards event in October 2021.
Radical Innovation is also running the Parc Omega Design Competition, which invites students and professionals to envision a 120-key hotel at the Parc Omega Wildlife Park in Quebec, Canada.
With a grand prize of 10,000 CAD, a runner-up prize of 5,000 CAD, and the opportunity for the winning design to be evolved further and potentially fully realised. Entries close 30 May 2021, and there is no fee to enter for either professionals or students for this competition.
