Sling Lounge Chair by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin for Takt
Dezeen Showroom: Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of London studio Industrial Facility have created a reclined lounge chair for Danish furniture company Takt.
The Sling Lounge Chair features a frame made of FSC-certified oak paired with an angled, slung fabric seat.
Hecht and Colin designed the chair to be a reinterpretation of a traditional lounge chair.
"The design solution creates a genuinely new type of chair, an altogether different – but comfortably recognisable – typology suited to the reality of modern living," explained Takt.
"Sling Lounge Chair adds new dimensions to the lounge chair as a typology, which makes it quite unique, but it also incorporates crafted details and materials that make it familiar."
The chair, which is approved for contract use, can be assembled using four screws and packs into flat wooden segments. Users can easily replace old or worn parts to extend the product's lifespan.
Sling is available with or without armrests and finished with a translucent matt or dusty green lacquer.
As with all Takt furniture, it comes with a five-year warranty and is certified with the EU Ecolabel. A detailed breakdown of its lifetime carbon emissions can be found on the brand's website in a bid to foster greater transparency.
