"I look forward to seeing designs that reconsider the importance of the domestic" reveals Dezeen Awards 2021 judge Francesca Muzio
There are now just three days left to enter Dezeen Awards 2021, we asked 2021 judge Francesca Muzio what she's expecting from this year's entries.
"There is a new need for intimate spaces where to enjoy a little 'me time' and do different activities," said Muzio.
"I expect to see designs that will adapt to the contemporary and future forms of living, like home working and staycations, with well-being as a major goal," she added.
"We need a greater sense of place and a deeper contact with the natural environment".
Now in its fourth year, Dezeen Awards celebrates the world's best architecture, interiors and design as well as individuals and studios producing the most outstanding work.
Muzio, whose latest collaborations include Feadship, Shangri-La and Mandarin Oriental, will be judging the design categories alongside Richard Hutten, Samayya Vally and Olafur Eliasson.
As creative director at the CRN and Custom Line Brand at Ferretti Group Muzio designed and constructed 112 super and mega yachts. In 2010 she founded FM Architettura d'Interni, which she has been running ever since.
"Entering awards are an invaluable occasion to learn from other designers around the world," said Muzio.
Dezeen is amongst the most innovative and broad design communication platforms and one of the most selective, giving a higher quality of entries and a greater recognition," she commented.
