Dezeen Showroom: Alexander Lotersztain has designed the Caterpillar seating system for Derlot, which brings rounded, relaxing shapes into the office and public environments.

Caterpillar is a modular seating system that supports numerous configurations. It offers single and double seating modules, as well as angled and corner units that can be combined into curved or winding shapes.

The seating system is distinguished by its rounded seat and backrest shapes, which create a friendly, caterpillar-like appearance.

"Smoothed edges and fluid lines create a relaxed tone in which creativity meets considered simplicity," said Derlot.

The Caterpillar seating units are connected via linking plates, and upholstery can be mixed and matched to create custom looks.

Side tables topped with American oak or American walnut are available as an optional accessory, and power sockets can be integrated into the seat fronts.
