Dezeen Showroom: created by Gandia Blasco artistic director José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, the GB Modular bench is designed to bring a minimal and industrial aesthetic to both indoor and outdoor environments.

Made of durable and resistant aluminium, the GB Modular bench is created through a sophisticated construction system using simple modular aluminium pieces.

The pieces are then cut and machined to the desired measurements before being assembled by hand, with the joints mostly hidden to enhance the clean lines of the furniture

"As a child, I used to play a lot at building with Meccano, and it was always on my mind to have a construction system that would allow me to make any type of furniture starting from a single profile," said Gandía-Blasco Canales.

"In an abstract way, GB Modular crystallises the identity and evolution of Gandia Blasco," he continued.

A matching table is also available, and the whole collection comes in four anodised aluminium colours – silver, dark gold, burgundy and black – with a textured matt finish to reduce fingerprints.
