Dezeen Showroom: Spanish tile brand Halcon Ceramicas has aimed to create a contemporary take on classic Venetian floors with its new porcelain tile range called Doge.
The Doge tile range references the floors of the Doge's Palace in Venice, but with a few changes to make it more compatible with current interior trends.
"In the traditional floor of the Doge's palazzo, the entire surface would be covered with tiny fragments of stone and marble, but in this range a delicate and subtle effect has been created," said Halcon Ceramicas.
The Doge tiles also have a matt finish instead of the highly polished look typical of Venetian floors.
There are four different neutral colours in the collection, ranging from grey to brown-beige, and with both warm and cool hues on offer.
A rectified tile, Doge comes in three sizes that suit expansive spaces. One of the formats, the 60-by-120-centimetre tile, has an anti-slip version for high-traffic areas.
