Sieger Suarez Architects and Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott have designed Miami's first supertall skyscraper for hotel brand Waldorf Astoria. It will have 100 storeys and will be 1,049-feet-tall (319.7 metres).
According to Ott, the building's structure consists of nine offset cubes that are intended to "make an iconic sculpture" that defies the laws of gravity.
Commenters aren't sold. One said: "Another building inspired by Jenga".
Other stories in this week's newsletter include a roundup of ten bold residential staircase designs, a single-storey house that resembles a treehouse and an opinion piece on urban housing solutions to combat housing crisis.
