Promotion: the US Green Building Council is hosting a live event from 7-10 June in Washington DC featuring insightful talks about the future of buildings, communities and the climate.
Called USGBC Live, the event aims to promote discussion surrounding the most pressing issues in the built environment and help shape the future of the green certification system LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and the wider industry.
Organised by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), it will include networking opportunities and educational talks by leaders in the architecture and design industries.
Speakers include activist and White House climate advisor Jerome Foster II, who has been a leading voice for Black and indigenous communities in climate activism, and founder of international youth advocacy and voting rights organisation #OneMillionOfUs, according to the USGBC.
Other speakers include administrator at US Environmental Protection Agency Michael S. Regan, and deputy secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Adrianne Todman, who focuses on creating affordable housing for low-income families and communities who "bear the brunt of the climate-fueled impact".
"Don't miss out on learning how to implement LEED, meeting others in the industry, discovering new green building strategies that help with real-world issues, and exploring the latest green building technology platforms, including updates to LEED Online," said USGBC.
