Dezeen Showroom: furniture brand Bensen has released the Collar chair, a curved back armchair that is supported by a wooden linear structure.
The body of the chair is constructed around a structural metal frame that is wrapped in a comforting polyurethane body.
Its plush body is available in a number of different upholstery materials including leathers, shearling, recycled textiles, wool and synthetics.
The Collar chair is supported by a rigid wooden structure beneath that is made up of four cylindrical angled legs and are adjoined to the base of the chair by supporting beams.
"Quality is a funny concept," said Bensen founder Niels Bendtsen. "We tend to think of it as being associated with handcraft. But quality is also about your attitude to design."
"Craftsmanship is just as much about how you run the machines that are necessary for economic viability."
Bensen explained that the chair is a versatile piece of furniture that can be used for a number of different occasions, whether that be for reading or having a conversation.
