Dezeen Showroom: flooring company Tarkett has redesigned and relaunched a collection of its classic linoleum flooring to meet customer demands.
The flooring named Tarkett Lino was first launched in 1898 at Tarkett's factory in Italy and, until now, has maintained the same material integrity and manufacturing process.
Tarkett added a matt finish to its newly relaunched Lino collection, which the brand explained looked to express the natural character of the material.
The new collection offers designers a spectrum of 105 contemporary tones to choose from. This includes the raw linoleum's neutral, light brown hue, as well as a number of hues spanning pinks, terracottas and khaki.
The collection also comes in five patterns "from a heritage marble effect to a more modern and minimalist feel incorporating plain shades that can create blocks of colour".
Tarkett's Lino is made from linseed oil, pine resin, wood flour, cork flour and jute.
Beyond recycling production scraps and installation offcuts, Tarkett is now able to take back and recycle old linoleum flooring so that it can be used in the development of new flooring.
Tarkett Lino can be used across walls, floors and furniture adding a second skin to interiors.
