Easy sofa and pouf by Verner Panton for Verpan
Dezeen Showroom: Danish company Verpan has rereleased two of Verner Panton's iconic 1960s designs: the fun and friendly Easy sofa and pouf.
Designed in 1964, the Easy sofa and pouf are shaped like rounded stacked discs, with a distinctive configuration on the sofa that sees four U-shaped backrests press against each other facing outwards.
This creates four individual spaces, although there is also the flexibility to change direction and use the backrest as an armrest.
The sofa is 180 centimetres in diameter, so there is ample room to sit in various positions.
"With its round shapes and layered design, the Easy collection stands out as one of the most visually distinctive pieces of the Verner Panton design catalogue," said Verpan.
The Easy collection also includes a chair that was already in production. All the pieces are available upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and colours, which Verpan says can tone the design up or down.
