Dezeen Showroom: Italian furniture brand Pedrali has launched Souvenir, an outdoor chair by Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet that takes cues from quintessential Parisian park furniture.
Souvenir was modelled on the classic green chairs that have long provided visitors of Paris's Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Luxembourg with a flexible alternative to fixed benches.
Quitllet's updated version shares its predecessor's slatted seat and backrest as well as its gradually flared legs, which end in small feet for stability.
Unlike older examples, Souvenir is made from polypropylene plastic rather than metal, which makes the chair lighter and thus easier to reposition and stack.
The material is also weather-resistant, making Souvenir suitable for outdoor use across private and commercial settings.
Souvenir is available with or without armrests and can be finished in six different colours – white, black, green, pink, red and grey.
Pedrali also offers a recycled plastic version made from 50 per cent post-consumer waste and 50 per cent industrial waste.
