Six Dezeen School Shows showcasing design projects

Dezeen School Shows has now published over 225 school shows! As graduation season continues, we've rounded up six school shows from design courses, including product design, industrial design, interaction design and jewellery design.

This selection features projects from design courses at universities around the world, including Zurich University of the Arts in Zurich, ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands and University for the Creative Arts in London.

Here are six school shows presenting undergraduate and postgraduate design projects:


Brunel University
Product Design BSc and Product Design Engineering BSc

Brunel University presented ten projects from the Product Design BSc and Product Design Engineering BSc courses.

The school show features a toy designed to encourage children to independently learn phonics and an interactive game that increases children's engagement with tennis.

Product and Furniture Design, Textile Design, Jewellery Materials and Design, Furniture and Product Design, Graphic Design and One Year In

Jewellery created to help relieve feelings of anxiety and a haircare range designed to empower women with all hair types are included in this school show from New Designers.

The New Designers competition selected ten projects from UK universities to feature in this showcase, including projects in furniture design, textiles and jewellery design.

ArtEZ University of the Arts
Product Design ArtEZ

ArtEZ University of the Arts showcased ten projects from product design students, including a shoe collection that challenges the conventions of sneaker design.

Also featured is a collection of afro combs for those who have been separated from their African heritage and tableware that encourages users to play with food.

Middlesex University
BA Product Design and BEng Product Design Engineering

A computer mouse designed to improve inclusivity in competitive video gaming and a toy that children can construct into different forms are included in this school show from students at Middlesex University.

The showcase features nine projects created by students studying the institution's BA Product Design and BEng Product Design Engineering courses.

University for the Creative Arts
Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice, BA (Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing, BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Ceramics and Glass

The University for the Creative Arts presented six student projects in its school show, including designs from the institution's undergraduate Graphic Design, Jewellery and Silversmithing, and Ceramics and Glass courses.

Among the projects featured is a series of glass tableware that takes cues from women's lived experiences and a collection of brooches informed by Islamic art.

Industrial Design and Interaction Design

A project that explores how technology informs beauty standards and a device placed in the ear to help treat sleep disorders are featured in this show presented by Zurich University of the Arts.

The school show includes ten projects designed by undergraduate and postgraduate students from the university's Industrial Design and Interaction Design courses.
