Following the announcement of a 170-kilometre-long megacity set to be built in the Saudi desert, we've rounded up 10 futuristic cities currently being planned around the world.
Architecture studios such as BIG, Foster + Partners and OMA are masterplanning futuristic high-tech cities to combat issues such as the housing crisis and climate change.
Commenters aren't convinced and would rather "not live in an artificial bubble, no matter how futuristic it looks" because "we need to fix the cities we currently inhabit" first.
