Promotion: Italian furniture company Arper has announced its programme for London Design Festival, which includes presenting the brand's latest collections at its Clerkenwell flagship showroom.
Marking 20 years of London Design Festival, Arper will display products at its recently restyled showroom in London's Clerkenwell area – one of the city's most notable design hubs.
Arper's latest collections feature products from various studios, encompassing the furniture company's newest concept The Project of Living, which is defined by Arper as "a reflection on the constant evolution of physical spaces and relationships".
Unveiled for the first time in the UK, the featured products will include the Shaal modular sofa by London practice Doshi Levien.
Low-slung and soft, the seating includes six core modules and intends to balance comfort and adaptability with a luxurious touch. Shaal is available in either leather or texture upholstery.
Another of Arper's latest ranges is Ghia – a series of versatile tables designed by the studio Altherr Désile Park that take cues from both geometry and the natural world.
Created to allow multiple configurations, Ghia's size and finish can be customised depending on preference.
A third featured product will be Aeeri, a sculptural table informed by the practice of origami, by Swiss architect Peter Kunz.
Minimal in its slender design, it features a tabletop crafted from a folded sheet of one-millimetre-thick steel.
Juno 02 is a collection of recycled plastic chairs with open backs by designer James Irvine that will also be on display in the Arper showroom.
The chairs are an updated design of Studio Irvine's 2012 Juno model and are available in six different colours.
A side table called Oell by French designer Jean-Marie Massaud will also be presented in the showroom, which is characterised by a chunky cylindrical base and a cantilevered tabletop.
Alongside its latest collections, Arper will host a series of events at its showroom during the London Design Festival.
These will include Meet the Designers, a private event held on 20 September. Arper's head of product design Nicolò Fanzago will discuss Shaal with Doshi Levien founders Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, as well as the relationship between product design and manufacturing. The event will be moderated by design journalist Bethan Ryder.
Arper will also take part in Clerkenwell Design Week's Clerkenwell Design Trail, which takes place in the area from 20 to 21 September.
The London Design Festival takes place from 17 to 25 September 2022. See Dezeen Events Guide for an up-to-date list of architecture and design events taking place around the world.
