Dezeen Showroom: Italian brand Lebanto has launched with the Panarea sideboard, which is intended to be a contemporary reinvention of a classic piece.
Lebanto aims for Panarea to provide a new sense of style and purpose for what it calls "the grandmother's sideboard" that would traditionally sit near the phone at the house entrance.
Lebanto's sideboard has a mix of materials and functions. There is a cushioned seat as well as a large drawer, a small cupboard and a shelf for decorative items.
The piece has a wooden structure but also includes alternating strips of mirror and lacquered wood on the drawer, a warm satin-finish brass detail on the cupboard, and a marble insert on the wooden top. It is available in three colour options.
Panarea is part of Lebanto's first collection, Verace, which it says was "born from the union between the past and the present, investigating the lines and shapes used by the great Italian masters and combining them with today's color and interiors".
Founded this year, the brand manufactures in Brianza, Italy and operates a direct-to-consumer model, delivering straight to homes globally.
