Promotion: aluminium glazing systems by manufacturer Kawneer have been designed to optimise natural light, ventilation and thermal comfort in a series of new healthcare buildings.

Its facade systems are intended to support the building users' comfort and wellbeing, thanks to features that include the reduction of solar heat gain and glare.
This makes it a popular choice in the healthcare sector, and Kawneer products have recently been used for a number of new, state-of-the-art healthcare facilities in the USA.

Recent healthcare buildings to feature a Kawneer facade system include Highlands Oncology in Springdale, Arkansas.
The five-storey cancer-treatment centre combines a range of products to increase natural daylighting in patient and staff areas, improve the building's energy efficiency and offer good acoustic performance.
The Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado, also uses Kawneer glazing to optimise lighting conditions – bringing natural light deep into the building to reduce energy costs.
Kawneer products also feature in the refurbished and extended Shorb Tower at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
The building now features a wall of View Smart Windows, which use electrically charged glass to switch between clear and tinted at the touch of a button, to suit different solar and lighting conditions.
A selection of Kawneer facade systems are resistant to hurricanes and blasts, offering greater safety during extreme events.
Products are manufactured from 40 per cent recycled materials. Customers can also access Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Material Transparency Summaries (MTS), to understand the environmental impact.
