Dutch Design Week, Utopian Hours and Light + Building are among the architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide this month.

Light + Building
2 to 6 October, Germany
Light + Building is the world's largest lighting and building services trade fair, showcasing lighting solutions from more than international 1,500 exhibitors.
The event, which takes place in Frankfurt, also presents electrical engineering products, house and building automation and security technology.
This year also includes a digital platform with online presentations and networking opportunities.
The event will focus on three key themes: Green Deal and Sustainability, Electrification and Digitisation and Light and Design.
2022 marks Lighting + Building's first Autumn edition and event since 2019, due to cancellations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Copenhagen Architecture Festival
6 to 16 October, Denmark
Copenhagen Architecture Festival returns to Denmark in 2022 and explores how buildings develop into places we connect with.
The festival's programme includes exhibitions, talks, debates, seminars, films, open houses and tours.
The theme for the 2022 event is Sense of Place, examining how people can experience and understand place in addition to how architecture can create a sense of place.
While the festival's main events take place from 6 to 16 October, the entire programme runs from 3 October to 18 November, including additional seminars, talks and exhibitions.
The event takes place at various locations across Copenhagen and the surrounding areas.
Utopian Hours
14 to 16 October, Italy
The city and urban planning festival Utopian Hours hosts its sixth edition in Turin, Italy.
The year's festival explores the theme A World of Eight Billion Cities and the three-day event includes a programme of panel discussions, talks and workshops hosted by urban planners, architects and activists.
For the first time, the festival also focuses on a guest city's urban planning, which this year is Milan. The event will explore recent transformations in the city and its future.
Seoul Design
19 October to 2 November, South Korea
Seoul Design is an extension of South Korea's largest design festival Seoul Design Week.
The event runs for 15 days with a programme of exhibitions, workshops, seminars, conferences, markets, a jobs fair and networking opportunities.
The festival explores the theme of Beautiful Life, focusing on the "beauty in life" following the global pandemic.
The majority of the exhibition takes place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza and some fringe events are located around Seoul as well as the virtual events in the metaverse.

Dutch Design Week
22 to 30 October, The Netherlands
The design festival Dutch Design Week returns for its 10th edition to Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
The festival hosts exhibitions, lectures, debates, workshops, awards ceremonies and networking opportunities.
Dutch Design Week is the largest design event in Northern Europe, presenting more than 2,600 designers.
The nine-day event takes place in more than 110 locations across the city across eight areas: Strijp-S, Strijp T+R, Sectie-C, Canal, Centre, Plan-B, Hallenweg and Station.
The festival sees more than 350,000 visitors attend, including design enthusiasts, buyers, curators, businesses and government institutions.

Orgatec
25 to 29 October, Germany
Orgatec is a biennial office furniture trade show taking place in Cologne, Germany.
The event showcases office and office equipment, lighting, flooring, furnishing, technology and construction.
The trade fair invites architects, interior designers, design consultants, furniture traders, real estate developers and facility management companies.
Orgatec also hosts a talks programme alongside the fair, which will explore how the global pandemic has affected culture and design within the workplace.
