Dezeen Showroom: German brand Gaggenau has presented a variety of appliances from its 400 series on Dezeen Showroom, including an oven that cooks with steam.
The combi-steam oven circulates steam instead of hot air, which allows food to maintain its nutrients and colour during the cooking process, according to the brand.
Gaggenau has been manufacturing steam ovens for over 20 years, and this new release represents its most up-to-date iteration, which also allows exact temperature control between 30 and 230 degrees Celsius.
The oven has a 50-litre-capacity and a built-in automated cleaning system to compliment its hygienic stainless steel interior.
Equally versatile, the culinary warming drawer operates at temperatures ranging from 30 to 80 degrees Celsius and has a variety of functions beyond warming plates including proofing dough, slow cooking, heating, drying, melting and defrosting food, according to the brand.
Its soft-close mechanism and easy-to-clean glass and stainless steel material make it appealing to use, and the touch bar on the lip of the drawer makes the settings simple to calibrate.
The Flex induction cooktop sits flush with the kitchen surface and features two large induction zones as opposed to traditional specific zones, offering greater freedom to position pots and pans when cooking.
The cooktop also features a centrally positioned integrated ventilation grid, which is automatically activated when the cooktop is in use.
Used on either manual or automatic settings, the brand's Vario downdraft ventilation is designed to be used in conjunction with any of its cooktops.
The system removes smells during cooking and is installed flush into the kitchen worktop for minimal visual impact.
With three individually controllable climate compartments, the brand's Vario wine climate cabinet can replicate the conditions of a wine cellar or bring beverages up to optimal drinking temperature.
Visually, the cabinet was designed by Gaggenau to "impress and tempt" users via its appealing extendable oak and anthracite trays, and glare-free LED lighting to display the collection inside.
Gaggenau is a German manufacturer of home appliances for private use.
The brand was originally founded in 1683 to forge metal goods and now produces high-specification kitchen and laundry devices and amenities for cooking, storage and washing purposes.
