Hollywood seating collection by Ben McCarthy for Gohome
Dezeen Showroom: Australian design brand Gohome has collaborated with product designer Ben McCarthy to create a stackable wooden seating collection called Hollywood.
The Hollywood collection consists of both chairs and bar stools, and McCarthy based the shape of the designs on traditional director's chairs, which also informed the collection's name.
The stackable furniture is made from both plywood and American Oak, which are laminated together for durability and comfort. The bar stool also has a brushed stainless steel footrest for additional support.
The legs appear to peel off from the backrest and seat, which creates a streamlined silhouette.
The void in the backrest of the chairs and stools has dual functionality as both a defining aesthetic characteristic and a functional handle for repositioning and stacking.
Available finishes include natural oak as well as white, black or red stained oak.
