Architectural photographer Marc Goodwin has captured seven workspaces in Munich for the final installation of his series documenting architecture studios in Germany.
Goodwin, who is the founder of architectural photography studio Archmospheres, took the images of Munich architecture studios as part of his recent series that has so far documented workspaces in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and now Munich. He also previously shot studios in Berlin.
His images from Munich capture studios including that of Behnisch Architekten, which features red floors and high wooden cabinetry used to display maquettes and models, and HENN, whose studio incorporates glass cabinetry for displaying models and a central metal staircase.
Goodwin explained that he uses Dezeen as a resource when looking for studios to photograph, typically highlighting a mixture of small and large offices.
"I tend to look for a range of large and small reputable offices, aiming at 10 per city," Goodwin told Dezeen. "Dezeen is a valuable resource."
Goodwin told Deezen that he observed more commonalities between the types of studios than common threads between cities or countries.
"It will come as no surprise if I say people in all of them [the German studios] were very hard working and professional," Goodwin told Dezeen. "This is commonplace both for Germany and architecture offices."
"I feel increasingly that the commonalities carry across types of offices more than countries," he continued. "There are large corporate offices and there are small studios. The same was true here."
"That said, I did notice a lot of very large office buildings being designed all across Germany. Is that a trend specific to German architecture?"
Other recent photography projects by Goodwin include a lakeside sauna and restaurant in Finland and a turtle sanctuary on the Sharjah coast.
