Dezeen Showroom: Australian brand Derlot has collaborated with designer Alexander Lotersztain on a seating system informed by German highways.
Autobahn was originally designed in 2012 and has a modular format, allowing its components to be easily reconfigured to accomodate a range of spaces and functions.
The system is made up of both straight and curved bench seating modules, which are designed to be combined into one long, snaking structure.
Segments also come with optional small circular tables that are attached to the legs, as well as an elevated and upholstered rear armrest designed to run parallel with the seats.
"Just like the German highway, the Autobahn collection is all about flowing lines, open spaces and endless possibilities," said Derlot. "A refined and pared-back form allows Autobahn to effortlessly change gears and adapt to both formal and informal environments."
The seating can be upholstered in a variety of fabrics and leathers, and the legs and table come in a selection of powder-coated colours and wood veneers.
