Foro table by John Pawson for Viccarbe
Dezeen Showroom: Foro is an oak table that was created by British designer John Pawson for Spanish furniture brand Viccarbe to bring people together over food and conversation.
The Foro table's design is informed by the ancient culture of Roman forums, where people would gather in the marketplace for social and financial activities.
"This collaborative concept has been the starting point for the designer, materialising it into a versatile table intended for conversation, idea exchange, feasting and coming together," said Viccarbe.
The table comes in square or rectangular versions and has a minimalist appearance with legs angled at 45 degrees.
"Foro is carefully crafted in solid oak wood to convey richness, endurance, and warmth to any atmosphere," said Viccarbe.
Foro is available with a hatch at the centre that conceals sockets, with electric cables hidden in one of the table legs for a clutter-free tabletop.
