Dezeen Showroom: lighting company Voltra has released a collection of table lamps named Hemisphere, which features glowing shades made from French porcelain.

Hemisphere lamps have ceramic shades that were crafted by porcelain brand JL Coquet in Limoges – a French city that has been a centre for traditional porcelain production since the 18th century.

The Hemisphere collection includes two lamp designs available in two sizes.

The lantern iteration is made entirely from porcelain, while the other lamp in the collection has a slender metal stem available in Voltra's signature finishes of natural brass, satin nickel and matte black.

The lamps are water and dust resistant and are suitable for use inside or outside.

A removable battery in the base of the stand allows Hemisphere lamps to function without cords cluttering surrounding surfaces.
