Tranquebar stools by Boris Berlin for Ca'lyah
Dezeen Showroom: Danish brand Ca'lyah collaborated with designer Boris Berlin on a duo of stools made from solid wood that have a circular indentation to allow for future personalisation.
Tranquebar stools are not upholstered, however the ring-shaped ridge inside the edge of the seat can be used to secure padded upholstery in the future, prolonging the piece's lifespan.
The stools come in two heights, one standard height for domestic use and one taller for use against counters and bars. Both stools are suitable for use in residential or commercial settings.
Echoing the circular seat, the tall bar stools have a brushed stainless-steel foot rest half way down the legs for the comfort of the user and to protect the timber from scuffing.
Tranquebar stools are made from either ash or oak wood originating from FSC certified sources, according to Cal'yah.
The stools can be specified with upholstery when purchased – available materials include leather or a range of fabrics from Kvadrat and Camira.
