Dezeen Showroom: designer Ramón Esteve took cues from the cast iron architecture found in New York City to create The Factory outdoor furniture collection, available from Spanish furniture brand Vondom.

The Factory collection includes a range of outdoor seating and tables, including armchairs, modular sofas, lounge chairs, side tables, high tables and coffee tables.

The range also contains lamps and area dividers, which share the seating's characteristic gridded frames.

Esteve was informed by the cast iron architecture of New York's SoHo and Tribeca neighbourhoods when designing the collection.

The pieces are made from aluminium and deployé mesh, a type of expanded metal, and the industrial appearance of the furniture is balanced by soft neutral-hued seat cushions.

"The contrast with the soft-looking cushions provides a warm and cosy touch to the collection," said Vondom.
