Dezeen promotion:Â US brand Resource Furniture has unveiled the motorised Tonale sofa wall bed and the LGM 2.0 revolving wall bed as its latest space-maximising furniture designs.
The wall beds form part of Resource Furniture's collection of transforming and multifunctional pieces designed to make the best use of space.
Each of the beds was designed to allow users to quickly and easily transform a room in their home into a bedroom.
The first bed is an update of the brand's best-selling LGM revolving wall bed, which was initially developed in the 1970s.
"We're continually impressed by LGM’s ability to stand the test of time," said co-founder of Resource Furniture, Steve Spett. "LGM was first introduced in the 1970s and offered this never-before-seen rotating technology that truly allowed customers to ‘swap’ from bed to office in no time at all," he continued.
"Year after year, LGM is our best-selling wall bed, and we expect continued interest and excitement with the LGM 2.0."
Named LGM 2.0, the bed utilises dampened gas springs for easier and silent deployment. The unit can be set up in numerous configurations for daytime use and then rotated at night to reveal the fold-down bed.
The upgraded unit contains integrated nightstands, recessed LED lighting and USB ports. It can incorporate a mounted TV and a fold-down desk that can be fully detached to create a freestanding table.
Alongside the LGM 2.0, Resource Furniture unveiled Tonale, which it describes as a "reinvention of the classic sofa wall bed".
The motorised version of the wall bed can silently turn from a sofa into a bed in 15 seconds at the touch of a button. It is equipped with automatic sensors to ensure that it will not open with obstacles underneath it.
Designed to fit any home, the sofa is available as either a two or three-seat option and in a range of Italian fabrics and leathers.
The beds are the latest releases from Resource Furniture, which was launched in 2000 with the aim of importing the most innovative furniture from Europe. Both beds were designed and manufactured in Italy by Clei.
Designed with the environment in mind and innovation, both beds are CARB2- and TSCA Title VI certified and made from 90 per cent recycled wood and plastic.
