Dezeen Showroom: Italian tile brand Casalgrande Padana has released its latest high-performance tile collection for public and commercial spaces, titled Terrazzotech.

Casalgrande Padana describes the Terrazzotech tile as having "outstanding" functionality and mechanical properties, including being waterproof, wear resistant and optionally finished with an antibacterial coating that also protects against mould and fungi.

The porcelain tile is made with stone chips of various shapes and sizes embedded in the mixture, echoing the look of classic Venetian flooring.

As a full-body tile, its colour and pattern runs right throughout the structure, providing assurance that even with the top layer removed, the tile's appearance will be unaffected.

The Terrazzotech collection is available in six colours, three sizes and three surface finishes, including a bush-hammered texture that creates an anti-slip effect.

Casalgrande Padana says the hardwearing tiles are suitable even for spaces such as laboratories requiring chemical and corrosion resistance, as well as the pharmaceutical and food industries.
