Dezeen Showroom: an ambient beside light and a reading light in one, Astro Lighting's Baton wall lamp has a minimal design that plays on the idea of two intersecting lines.

The Baton light was informed by the "precision and minimalism" of a single pencil stroke, according to Astro Lighting, and is designed for both hotel rooms and residential interiors.

The light's design features a circular wall mount attached to one long metal rod that can be mounted vertically or horizontally. From the back of this rod, an opalescent diffuser casts an ambient glow on the wall behind.

In addition, a second small rod, crossing the other at one end, contains a directional reading light that can be adjusted to the desired angle.

The Baton wall light features integrated LEDs for energy efficiency and is made of aluminium with either a matt black or matt nickel finish.

It is part of Astro Lighting's latest collection of wall lighting, which is designed to be both stylish and functional.
