Dezeen Showroom: British company Karndean Designflooring has released its latest take on oak flooring with the Korlok Regent luxury vinyl tile collection, promising a realistic alternative to natural wood.
Karndean aimed to give the Korlok Regent tiles the beauty and textural detail of oak floorboards, with a wood grain embossed effect that the company says is highly authentic.
At the same time, the product boasts the durability and easy maintenance of vinyl flooring, and with its robust eight-millimetre rigid core construction, has been classified as suitable for commercial heavy specification.
It comes in a range of six neutral tones and four formats — long plank, herringbone, chevron and large chevron — to open up the possibility of diverse laying patterns.
"The Korlok Regent collection not only offers an enhanced look and feel of a real wood floor but also unrivalled durability to reduce overall environmental impact with no adhesive required and a long product life cycle," said Karndean vice-president of sales Fleur Carson.
"We have curated a collection of neutral oak designs which will provide architects and interior designers with outstanding versatility to create spectacular contemporary interiors that will wow."
