Promotion: Italian furniture brand Pedrali has launched a wooden pavilion and exhibition, marketing its 60-year history.
The Pedrali pavilion, designed by architecture studio AMDL Circle and architect and artist Michele De Lucchi houses an exhibition named 'Pedrali60, We Design a Better Future'.
Both the pavilion and exhibition are located at the brand's headquarters in Mornico al Serio, Italy, and explore Pedrali's 60 years of "producing quality furniture that stands the test of time".
"The Pedrali Pavilion is located in our headquarters in Mornico al Serio, where everything we do is conceived and comes to life," said CEO of Pedrali, Monica Pedrali. "Here ideas and plans for the future are forged."
"The decision to build the Pedrali Pavilion in our local territory reminds us of our roots, our environment," continued Pedrali. "This is a new space that belongs solely to us and which will be the legacy of this very special anniversary."
The Pedrali Pavilion comprises a large raised roof that houses two levels: one on the first floor, which hosts the exhibition, while the large ground-floor area is designed as a space to "reflect on the need to find a shared dimension in which to build our future".
The Pedrali Pavilion is made from PEFC-certified wood, a material that the brand says embraces the tradition and production innovation that lies at the heart of its values.
"The Pedrali Pavilion is like a large roof that stands on its own two legs, approachable via a staircase that is also a grandstand where people, visitors, and spectators can stay together," said founder of AMDL Circle, Michele De Lucchi.
"In this mobile and movable exhibition space, which tells the story of the existence of a company, a community of people building together something that deserves to be built, distributed, sold, told, combining together the destinies of many individuals."
The exhibition, curated by architecture studio Luca Molinari Studio, traces Pedrali's history, which began in 1963 when founder Mario Pedrali opened the business in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, Italy. The exhibition features a display of the brand's prototypes, catalogues and projects.
"The exhibition offers a critical re-interpretation of an important element of Italy's design scene and a look to the future drawing on Pedrali's strong entrepreneurial and innovative drive," said Luca Molinari Studio.
"Community, research, experimentation, sustainability, widespread quality, strong ties with the territory, and a two-way dialogue with designers are just some of the elements that characterize the exhibition and its paths."
The Pedrali Pavilion is open until the end of October to collaborators and architects but also to schools, customers and the general public.
