World's 47 most outstanding designs shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2023

Dezeen has announced the design shortlist for this year's Dezeen Awards, which includes designs by Muoto, Luceplan, Fuseproject and Tom Dixon.

The 46 shortlisted studios, which are in the running for awards in nine different design project categories, are located across 18 different countries including Israel, Czech Republic, Norway, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

The top project city locations are London, with eight shortlisted entries, followed by San Francisco and Amsterdam tied with three and Stockholm and Oslo in third with two each.

Among the shortlisted designs this year include a portable kit to clean menstruation pads, a two-in-one bicycle for German manufacturer Lemmo and a chair designed to encourage children to alternate between eight sitting positions.

A collaboration between architecture studio Foster + Partners and furniture brand Benchmark, which saw firms create a collection of solid ash wood tables and stools designed around principles of circularity and longevity, was another shortlisted project.

Dezeen Awards 2023 shortlists revealed this week

The shortlisted projects were scored by our design jury which includes designers Erwan Bouroullec, Rooshad Shroff, Lani Adeoye and Maria Cristina Didero.

Dezeen Awards 2023, in partnership with Bentley Motors, will reveal all shortlisted projects this week. The architecture and interiors shortlist were announced earlier this week, and the sustainability shortlist will be published tomorrow.
