UK company Solidwool has designed a material made from a mixture of wool and bio-resin, which resembles fibreglass and has been used to create the Welsh Mountain Hembury Chair.
The wool used for the seat comes from Welsh Mountain sheep, which have grazed in the valleys and steep hillsides of Wales for centuries and have either dark or light-coloured fleeces.
This week's newsletter also featured Tadao Ando's designs for a performing arts centre in Sharjah, an interview with the coordinator of the mammoth Great Green Wall project Elvis Paul Tangem and an opinion piece by architect Yasmeen Lari about the threat of environmental hazards triggered by climate change.
