Dezeen Showroom: British furniture brand Morgan has drawn on freeform shapes to inform the design of its lounge chair collection.
The Goodwood range includes a series of high- and low-back armchairs with distinctive timber detailing, chamfered-edge armrests and a low-slung silhouette.
Designed by Katerina Zachariades, Morgan's creative director, the collection takes cues from hand-carved wooden sculptures and abstract forms created by art mobiles.
The range is machine-cut from solid walnut or oak, while the frame is made from plywood and timber.
The chair's upholstery consists of foam and a feather and foam combination for the back cushion. There are multiple fabrics and leathers for designers or clients to choose from.
As well as a wooden armrest, the collection includes an armless design and a rattan armrest framed in timber, as well as a high-back chair with a fully upholstered arm and loose lumbar cushioning.
Alongside the lounge chairs, the range also features two dining chairs, one with a timber armrest and the other with a solid upholstered arm.
