Architects John Wardle and Wynn Cam, interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud and designers Tania Doumbe Fines and Elodie Dérond have joined as Dezeen Awards 2024 judges.
Dezeen Awards 2024 in partnership with Bentley is open for entries for one more month only. Submit your entry by 23:59 London time on 30 May to avoid late entry fees.
Now in its seventh year, the programme has become the ultimate accolade for architects and designers everywhere, with winners selected by a prestigious panel of international judges.
Read on to learn more about the latest judges that have joined this year's judging panel:
Wardle is a founding partner at the architecture firm Wardle and will sit alongside AMDL Circle founder Michele De Lucchi on this year's architecture panel.
Recent projects of Wardle include a brick-clad cultural centre in Sydney and a renovation of his own home in Melbourne.
The practice has been recognised with the RIBA Award for International Excellence and honoured with the Gold Medal from the Australian Institute of Architects. Wardle speaks regularly at national and international conferences and as a keynote speaker at the World Architecture Festival.
Portuguese designer Champalimaud is the founder of New York-based interior design studio Champalimaud Design and will be joining the interiors judging panel.
The practice has designed many hotel interiors including Los Angeles' Hotel Bel-Air, the Beverly Hills Hotel, Raffles Singapore and Claridge's in Mayfair, London.
Some of Champalimaud's recent projects include the revitalisation of the hurricane-ravaged Su Casa villa in Puerto Rico and the English-country-style Troutbeck hotel in the Hudson Valley.
Singaporean architect and urban planner Cam is the director of firm Morrow Architects and Planners and Morrow Technology and will be joining SOM's Nina Hasman on the sustainability panel.
Cam was elected as a council member of the Singapore Institute of Planners, served as a board director on the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment and participated in the United Nations Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative as a think tank committee member.
He works across an array of project types and scales, from city planning to university campuses, mixed-use complexes, housing and individual buildings.
Hailing from Cameroon and Martinique respectively, designers Fines and Dérond are the founders of design studio ibiyanε.
Recent projects by duo Fines and Dérond include sculptural seats for Black Experience Isn't A Spectacle – an exhibition aimed to channel an Afrocentric perspective, as opposed to external representations of the black body.
Studio Ibiyanε's work has since been shown in the Carpenters Workshop Gallery, as well as design fairs including Design Miami and Milan design week.
