Dezeen Showroom: designers David Karásek and Michael Tomalik collaborated with Czech brand Mmcité to create Platform, outdoor modular seating that sits atop "protective" wood.
Platform is the most recent piece created by Karásek and Tomalik for Mmcité – a brand known for its street furniture.
Available in two depths and two widths, the curved seating is comprised of a galvanised steel structure with a powder-coated finish. Its sides are lined with timber slats.
Platform sits atop a "protective" wooden floor, designed to assert the furniture in busy urban environments.
"Spring-loaded safety bumpers also help provide comfort in the pulsating public space," said Mmcité.
"The development of a bustling city is undeniable," added the brand. "Streets are becoming our second home thanks to direct interaction with people. Urban furniture has a responsibility to respond to change."
There is also the option to add a planter extension to the seating as well as small round tables.
