Living Objects stool by Vormen
Dezeen Showroom: steel in both tubular and sheet form has been used in the design and construction of this four-legged stool created by Belgian design studio Vormen.
Designed to be both elegant and practical, the Living Objects stool features a very thin sheet steel seat welded to four thicker tubular legs.
The effect is a striking one, particularly when the stools are stacked, creating a compact but sculptural display.
Adding further interest to the design is the slight curve to the seat, which Vormen describes as having "a sense of poetic allure" that hints at the presence of a seated person while ensuring optimal ergonomic support.
A part of the Living Objects collection, the stool is available in three colours or in a galvanised finish, where the steel is treated with a thin layer of zinc.
This process creates a patina, making every stool unique. They can be used both indoors and outdoors and a matching bench also features in the brand's catalogue.
