Dezeen Agenda features the UK's worst new building

British studio Broadway Malyan's redevelopment of Lime Street in Liverpool has been announced as the winner of this year's Carbuncle Cup, which judged buildings completed since the cup was last held in 2018.

The Lime Street design, which Carbuncle Cup organiser The Fence called a "hideous bit of architectural misadventure", includes etched metal panels that adorn one facade along the street leading from Liverpool Lime Street train station.

This week's newsletter also featured International firm SOM's plans for four supertall skyscrapers that generate and store energy, the reopening of The Hillside Theatre by Frank Lloyd Wright in Wisconsin following a five-year restoration and colourful football plinths created by Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis for the Euro 2024 group stage games.
