Memorable collection by HBF Textiles
Dezeen Showroom: the final range by HBF Textiles' long-serving designer Mary Jo Miller, this textile collection brings together a poetic pattern, a deeply textured weave and supple leathers.
Memorable is the final collection from Miller, who is retiring after more than 30 years at HBF Textiles, where she is now vice-president of design and creative direction.
HBF Textiles describes her as a "champion of female design empowerment" who interpreted her own life through her work, transcending "mere fabric" to communicate themes of reunion, connection and introspection.
The collection features Daydreamer, a mottled pattern supposedly inspired by the human tendency to find familiar shapes in random stimuli, which is made from 100 per cent recycled plastic yarn.
There is also the woven chenille Hefty Herringbone, which has a texture suggesting years of love and wear despite its high durability – it is said to have passed the Wyzenbeek abrasion test of 100,000 double rubs with no wear.
Rounding out the collection is the Glovely leather, named for its supple, glove-like finish. Made in a tannery renowned for its sustainability standards, the leather is soft enough to be used to upholster detailed seating such as swivel-tilt executive chairs.
