Dezeen Showroom: industrial designer Tim Rundle has created a rounded sofa collection, named Bilbao, for furniture maker Morgan.

Available in a two- or three-seater format, the Bilbao sofa is based on the brand's original Bilbao lounge chair and was designed by Rundle to offer "relaxed comfort in a contemporary yet familiar aesthetic".

Suitable for workspaces as well as commercial and hospitality settings, the versatile sofa is made to order at Morgan's factory in Hampshire, UK.

The seating is supported by an internal frame made from PEFC/FSC-certified timber and can be upholstered with various textiles and fabrics.

"Characterised by soft curvaceous surfaces, the collection evokes a retreat-like atmosphere in commercial spaces," said Morgan.

"We're witnessing a growing preference for softness in hospitality spaces," added designer Tim Rundle. "The Bilbao collection, with its voluminous forms and predominantly upholstered surfaces, is designed to infuse warmth into diverse environments, from the sociable settings of hotel lobbies and lounges to the intimate confines of bedrooms."
