Vika acoustic lighting by Khodi Feiz for Abstracta

Dezeen Showroom: industrial designer Khodi Feiz has designed a range of acoustic lighting defined by gently folded shapes for Swedish brand Abstracta.

Named Vika, the lighting is made up of felt-covered panel elements with a central fold. It is available as a horizontal hanging pendant or a floor lamp composed of a cluster of vertical panels.

Vika is a collection of sound-absorbing lights

Vika has a sound-absorbing core partly made from recycled PET bottles, which is wrapped in a Texfel acoustic felt that comes in a range of colours.

The lighting was designed to create a sense of cosiness in a range of interior settings, including residential, hospitality and workspaces.

Its design is defined by gently folded panels

"Its form, a wing-shaped oblong floor screen made of sound-absorbing felt, encapsulates sound while diffusing indirect light to create a calm, cosy atmosphere," said Abstracta.

"Vika is ideal for open-plan offices, co-working spaces, lobbies, cafes, restaurants, and even homes, where it can serve as a room divider or a standalone decorative element."
